Easy Taiwan Spinach Recipe with Garlic and Ginger (Water Spinach or Chinese Spinach)

For a great side dish that you can prepare and cook in just a few minutes, try this easy Taiwan spinach recipe.

It’s fast, easy, healthy and delicious as a starter or side. If you like a little heat in your food (like I do!) then add in a finely sliced red chilli (I like Bird’s Eye Chillis for their heat and fruitiness but it’s up to you).

A little sesame drizzled over the top is a particular luxury for me, but you can leave it out if it doesn’t suit you.

Easy Taiwan Spinach Recipe

This Taiwan spinach recipe is particularly easy as it has so few ingredients and comes together very quickly. Some recipes don’t have the ginger (just the garlic) but I’ve left the ginger in because I think it makes a delicious addition to the dish.

If you don’t have Chinese Rice wine (Shaoxing Wine) you could substitute a little dry sherry, although many of the big supermarkets do stock rice wine, and the Asian grocery stores certainly will.
